Satoru Iwata

Hi all

This week we decided to do a tribute to Satoru Iwata who was Nintendo's CEO and who sadly passed away at the age of 50.

From the left: Pokeball, Mr Saturn, Kirby, Satoru Iwata, Mario Mushroom and a bunch of bananas.  This was drawn by Marlene, Matthew, Laura, Andrew, Marshall and Ethan.

Soooo....after my lament last week at how bad we have been sucking we turned it around this week and won :)

Team "Good Ash, Bad Ash, as Long as He Is the One With the BOOMSTICK!" from left: Laura, Marlene, Matthew, Andrew, Marshall and Ethan.

I totally answered one question this week and I AM SO PROUD ... the rest of my team carried me I can't lie but thanks for letting me bask in your glory.

Clockwork Banana

This is our homage to The Minions  and A Clockwork Orange which is out this week. Drawn by Laura and Marlene on July 7th 2015.  The Geek Trivia this week was based on the 1990's and one thing we learned was that  on our team we are children of the 1980's.  For the last few weeks we have been struggling for points.  We used to finish in the top 4 or 5 now we are lucky not to be bottom.  Not sure what has changed but it is staring to make me sad :(  We were rarely winners and we still had a great time but losing so badly week after week is starting to make it not so fun.  Just venting and not blaming anyone - maybe just a summer slump.

Bioshock

We have recently discovered the world of Bioshock and we wanted to share our excitement by making this weeks art based on the Bioshock Infinite logo.  This was drawn by Laura, Matt and Marlene on June 30th 2015

The Scream, Third Place and the Terrapin Club.

This week we tackled the Batman and The Joker version of Edvard Munch's The Scream.  This was drawn by Marlene, Laura and Matthew with assistance from Brian and Matthew.  This was drawn on June 23rd 2015

It was an interesting night tonight with only 2 teams having points left at the end of the final round.  The rest of the room went into a tie breaker for third place and we happened to win!  We are now the proud owner of some Terrapin beer Koozies.  From this point on we will be known as The Terrapin Club which will be an elite club committed to coming third place at Geek Trivia - which is quickly becoming our specialty.
