Welcome to the Blog

So there is a place hidden away behind a comic book store.  A place that caters to the geek and the geek at heart that is probably one of the best bars in Orlando.  This is a place where comic books, movies, computer games, board games, anime and role play games are discussed in equal measures by a wide variety of geeky patrons.  This wondrous place is called The Geek Easy (https://www.facebook.com/thegeekeasy).  It serves a variety of specialty beers, other drinks and the best Tetris shaped tater tots, funnel cake fries, cheese sandwiches and burgers in Orlando.  It is to this place that I go with my husband, family and friends every Tuesday night for Geek Trivia.

Phil Whigham and Topsy from Awesomelab Industries (https://www.facebook.com/Awesomelab) run Geek Trivia every Tuesday and succeed in coming up very some excellent, geeky and difficult (damn you Pokemon!!) questions.  I'll admit when I first walked in to Geek Trivia I was pretty confident about my trivia skills that is until I started to have my ass handed to me every week! But hey we keep coming back and we love it:)  Geek Trivia has it own little community of regulars that are about the nicest people you could hope to meet.

One of the many cool features of The Geek Easy is the tables that are coated with blackboard paint.  Every body who comes to Geek Trivia is geeky about something.  Mine is Doctor Who, Stephen King, Movies, Disney and Supernatural.  But when I saw those tables it was like a movie scene when light surrounds a beautiful object with an angelic choir in the background and I became geeky about those tables.  I saw the possibilities and as a team we started to plan and plot a large group picture.  Our first pic was of a Pac-Man game and from that point it became a weekly hobby for our group. It even took priority over finding good team names (our last one was "42"...you know from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy...yeah I know:(  )   Please understand that we are not artists but some of the pictures we feel turned out pretty well:). For the ones that didn't we still included them in this blog as we learned a lot from doing them.

We welcome any comments (please be kind we are a friendly blog) and we will be adding other peoples pictures to the blog as we go with their permission of course.  Suggestions for team names are always welcome :)  So if you would like to see your table art posted please send it to us with the artists names and date it was drawn.  The only rule is that it is not abusive to any group or individual and is not pornographic.

Oh and finally we are not in anyway employed by The Geek Easy we are simply customers and fans of the coolest bar in Orlando.  Special thanks to Aaron, the owner of The Comic Shop and The Geek Easy, for giving us permission to run this blog and for having such a cool place to go to and to the bar staff for being so awesome.
